Scripture writing

One of the things I hope to always remember about this journey is the amount of thought and prayer that went in to it. We walk to the house *almost* every day, as long as it's not raining and muddy. I find myself praying on our walks to the house and while I'm walking through the house. Praying for our family and for God to bless our house and all of the memories, activities, fellowship and ministry opportunities that will take place there. I pray for each family member as I walk around to "their" area of the home. I pray for our builder and his wife and son. I pray for our project manager and his family. I pray for the numerous contractors, the ones we see, but don't know. I pray for their safety, for their family and that they will feel the presence of God in our home. That they will know that we are His. I've loved the time with our girls that we have had while walking there, from our rental. I've even loved the time in our "cozy" rental, we've had a lot of time to learn and grow while we've been here.
While praying over our home, I was reminded of many verses that I want us to remember and have written on our hearts. I saw on Pinterest several posts of people that had literally written the verses on the studs of their home, and I LOVED the idea. I wrote verses on notecards that I wanted to include in our home. I asked the girls and Jason for their favorite verses and anything they wanted to include. It was impressed with the verses they requested and we spent several hours at the house, writing The Word on our walls. I love that we will know that they are there, even when they are covered with drywall and furniture/cabinets. We will know that under it all, hidden away, just as in our hearts, is the Word of God.
So far, this is my favorite part of the process.

Trim

July 3, 2020 This week they're working on trim. Jason says the doors have made the biggest impact for him. It's really looking like a house! We laughed because they had "Corona" written on all the walls. Apparently that means "crown" so it was indicating where the crown molding would be. Also, there was a Corona bottle on the floor. How fitting.

Marital opportunity for growth

June 28, 2020 In an effort to keep it real, I'd like to introduce you to the only argument Jason and I have had over this whole ordeal. When we entered in to the building phase, many people warned me that it would be a strain on our marriage and it really hasn't been. Probably because Jason hasn't had many opinions. ha! He's pretty much said "I trust you" over and over, so I do what I want. Well, we went to discuss how the back porch would be poured and he and the project manager thought a rounded patio would be nice. I said I preferred clean lines (always right angles, not curved). I prefer clean lines for multiple reasons, but one is that furniture placement is difficult in circles and I just think more can be done with a square than circle. Jason thought the round patio looked more custom (he's probably right on that).  I didn't have a big opinion on it (at least I didn't think I did) so they marked it and we went on. *To be fair, it was a bi...
